Hey guys, so I had some rare free time on this weekend and thought I would try something new here. I thought it would be kind of interesting to see how this site looked and worked on an upgraded version of this platform. Can any of you let me know if you have this link working on your end? https://stockboards.ddns.net/site/forums/index.php It's a complete copy of this forum, but without some of the features like the chat, and homepage, etc. I was just curious to hear what you all think about it. Upgrading this platform is not something I was thinking of doing anytime soon since I do like the current (older) version the best. But, I thought I would just try my hand at the upgrade on a testing site and have you guys take a look around in it and let me know your thoughts, etc. Thanks!
Thoughts from me, at least initially that I can see is that it loads a bit faster than this forum. Not too bad at all tbh. But, I still do prefer this version over that one for now haha.
Looks okay to me. If it makes it easier for you to work on @bigbear0083 , I'm all for it. I know you're strapped for time....
Thanks for the quick input here you guys, I very much appreciate that. To be honest, I really don't have any plans to upgrade this platform to a newer version anytime soon yet, but it's nice to see how it would appear if such an upgrade were to ever happen. BTW, I have some pretty wild news here. I was looking through some of my old archives over this past weekend and stumbled across the complete archive of the old forum. Not HSM but the one after that (Stockaholics). Check it out! Let me know if you guys have this link working on your end: https://stockboards.redirectme.net/homepage/forums/ The data goes back to February of 2019 which was when I had left the community there. I was looking through some of the old contest threads at this link here: https://stockboards.redirectme.net/homepage/forums/stockaholics-stock-market-contests-archives.41/ I can't even believe some of the stuff I was running there at the time. Holy schnikes! That was some crazy amount of time and effort I had to put in to run and maintain all of that! Unfortunately all of my old posts and data were purged away at that community during the fiasco at the time. Kind of sad, but I'm happy that I at least had these archives saved somewhere in my files. I'm going to see if I can also find the archives that goes back to the HSM forum. I think I have a few of them somewhere. Those were some good memories. EDIT: I've updated the links in this post. There was an issue pulling up the pages initially. But it should work now. Let me know if you guys have it all working fine on your end. Thanks!
lol @OldFart oldie. those were some crazy times! i still can't believe some of things i was running on there at the time. those archives really brings back a lot of good memories for me. i miss the old crew bigly. am really so grateful that some of you followed me to here. you guys are truly the best. i've known you all dating back 2 decades long which is pretty mild blowing to me
hmm, so i couldn't find any threads from the original board but i did manage to find some old screenshots this one shows your join date, post and karma count from the old HSM @OldFart and @stock1234
oh, i found my profile shot from the old HSM. wow, join date 2006... next year would make it 20 years. insane lol.
I didn't realize I joined in 2009 lol, probably the financial crisis got me interested in the stock market if I remember correctly
I remember most of those people. Charulz was the 1st person to mention bitcoin...he bought around $25 and sold some of his position around $750 or so? I think he held onto the rest, which is probably why we never heard from him again. Living the good life on a private island? I also remember you showing up and blowing people away with the articles and research into past movements. Crazy times. Rando showed up here for a little while. I was hoping he'd stick around. He was a really good trader.
